The Sun

"The sun has climbed the hill, the day is on the downward slope. Between the morning and the afternoon, stand I here with my soul, and lift it up. My soul is heavy with the sunshine and steeped with strength. The sunbeams have filled me like a honeycomb, it is the moment of fulness and the top of the morning."

~ D.H. Lawrence

Just as fruit ripens not in the moment of planting but in the patient hours of sun-soaked waiting, so too does the soul reach its sweetness at midday—when we pause to recognize we are full of light we did not create, strength we did not manufacture, and readiness we have quietly grown into. Growth is not the striving of morning nor the harvest of evening, but the sacred stillness of standing at the peak, acknowledging we have become what the earth and sky have made of us.
