Collaboration - In Service

The Second Vatican Council has contributed to a renewal of our understanding of mission, giving us in particular a vision of Church as "People of God", ministering, participative, poor, servant, pilgrim... Other documents of the Church took up and deepened this dimension of collaboration.

Our collaboration within this missionary perspective implies choosing a methodology of reciprocity ~ implying adopting the same vision or project, mutual trust in teamwork for planning together, respect of the various stages... the need for patience, charity and perseverance. Success in this demands that each of us listen, reflect and pray, dialogue and be converted to the values of communion and participation.

Placing ourselves in an attitude of searching for new ways of collaboration which leads to more effective pastoral planning is a sign of a mature faith. To be open to collaboration, gives our missionary service depth, courage and the distinctly "catholic" dimension that St. Comboni desired and strived to realize.

Let us remember that we walk not alone but as companions on the journey, bearing Christ's light together into a world that hungers for communion. In our differences lies not division but God's creativity; in our shared purpose lives the promise of unity. Today, let us step forward with confidence that when we truly collaborate in love and mutual respect, we become living witnesses to the kingdom—not as isolated voices, but as one heart proclaiming that together, we are stronger, and the harvest is gathered most fruitfully by many hands working as one.
