”The vision of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences, for the Church in Asia, is to be in triple dialogue : dialogue with the poor, with cultures and with religions.”
* Archbishop Orlando Quevedo of Cotabato, Philippines
This vision of triple dialogue reminds the Church that her mission in Asia is not first to speak, but to listen with reverence and humility. Dialogue with the poor keeps the Gospel grounded in real suffering and hope; dialogue with cultures honors the ways God has already been at work in the hearts and histories of peoples; dialogue with religions recognizes that the Spirit precedes the Church, sowing seeds of truth and holiness beyond her visible boundaries. When these dialogues are held together, the Church becomes less a distant institution and more a compassionate companion—walking with Asia’s peoples, learning from them, and revealing Christ not as a stranger, but as one already dwelling among them.
